Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener
Really great quality, especially for that affordable price. The construction is genius and comfortable. Extremely easy to use with the instructions that tuck away inside and the the built-in guides. I highly recommend it!
Very comfortable and serviceable field knife, doesn't take up much room in a pack or pocket and does the job well enough. Great price for a great product.
This sharper is the best field repair solution. A knife can be sharpened quickly. I use other sharpeners to put that once a week edge on my knife, but they are elaborate and time
consuming. This field sharpener is perfect for daily touch ups and major repairs daily away from all the fancy tools.
Blade Hound from way back…honestly, l have owned every type of sharpener from Commercial, Bench Field, Stone, Ceramic, Diamond, Belt, Steel, etc. The majority of which found little use after the first round of blades. This is the first “True” Field Sharpener I’ve owned. In this instance I committed myself NOT to press it into service on all of my blades, all at once…I now find myself grabbing it out of the my pack, throwing it into my boat or truck (by the way it works on drill bit cutting ends) and I haven’t lost a magnetic panel to date, nor have I encountered any corrosion or excessive wear. Granted I’m not near salt water but I will be this December. The panel compartment does provide some “survival gear” stowage space if you are creative and so inclined.
It takes a little getting use to, but puts a fine edge on various forms of cutlery. I feel like it’s best suited for smaller blade knives, up to 4” give or take.
