I have read my first copy a few dozen times and still reference it regularly in life. I loved this book so much I had to get another copy for our cabin. Along with the rest of meateater/Rinella books I will recommend them to anyone who cares to learn about or who shares a passion for the outdoors.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas! It has held up, amazingly! The only thing that's a little bit of a downside the bottom is very tight. But it is something that he wears multiple times a week so it can't be that bad.

This book is amazing. I have a hard time staying focused and finishing books but this one is so descriptive and interesting that I can't stop reading. I've hunted my whole life and this book is teaching me new skills that I plan to put to use.

This book covers all of the common big game species in the US, and most of the principles and recipes found in the book can be adapted to most other big game meat as well. It's definitely a worthwhile read for any big game hunter, even if you're just into one or two particular species.
