You can own the very boat that was featured throughout the entire season of MeatEater’s first ever original fishing series, Das Boat.
Steve Rinella bought this boat out of a backyard in central Texas before sending it off to explore five fisheries in Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Along the way, the boat fished with some of the most interesting characters in the fishing world, got tuned up by a few of the South’s finest marine mechanics, and picked up some pretty badass modifications, including:
A self-stabilizing, removable, mounted charcoal grill added by chef, Jesse Griffiths.
A one-of-a-kind paint job from artist Ed Anderson.
A somewhat suspect casting deck, built by Cal.
A Minn Kota Ultrex removable bow-mounted trolling motor with 80 lbs of thrust, built in sonar capability, and iPilot link GPS with AutoPilot and Spot Lock.
A Lowrance Hook 5 fish finder.
- Last, but certainly not least, a Honda BF40 4 stroke outboard engine featuring, BLAST (Boosted Low Speed Torque) for quick hole shots; Programmed Electronic Fuel Injection for easy starts, instant throttle response, slower trailing speeds, and just better fuel economy; and Lean Burn Control, which allows you to stretch your gas even further. Honda outboards are known for their dependability and quiet operation, and this particular motor has proven its worth.
We can’t exactly vouch for the trailer, but hey, it made it all the way across the country, and both the boat and the trailer carry priceless history.

About The Auction
Continuing the mission of the MeatEater Land Access Initiative to provide more hunting and fishing access for everyone, we’ve chosen our first project and it’s a great one: A 68.2 acre parcel of land in Kingfield Township, Maine called Shiloh Pond. In order to get our first Land Access project over the finish line, we have an additional $32,000 more to raise. To help us get there, we’re auctioning off some badass stuff, including the boat from Season 1 of the Das Boat series, one of Steve Rinella’s left-handed rifles, and gear from Janis and Cal. The auction ends Sunday, August 16th. Before you participate, please review the Auction Terms & Conditions.
