Crystal Over Slate Pot Call | MeatEater x Phelps
Sounds good so far can’t wait to try in the field
The call came packaged with everything you need to get started, including a small conditioning stone. An upgraded one is needed, but it gets the job done. The call sounds excellent, and the Turkey logo puts the aesthetics of the call in the top tier.
However there were burrs of wood trapped around the entire ring of the pot, and then smashed in place by the crystal plate. Before installing the crystal,
the edges of the pot need to be smoothed out. The same thing is to be said for the holes on the bottom of the pot. Pictured on their website is evenly spaced holes of the same dimensions smooth as butter. With the call I received two of the holes are larger than the others, and once again all of the machined holes were not “de-burred”. I had to take a fine file, to give it that finished look, while at the same time trying not to get wood trapped in the call. I’ll keep my opinions/speculations out of the review, and leave it with those facts.
